Dealership’s “First Down” Program Generates Nearly $4,000 for Local Community
Norwell, MA – Through a series of programs, the Norwell Coastal Nissan dealership has teamed up with Hull’s Wellspring Multi-Service Center to assist South Shore families in need. New England Patriots running back Kevin Faulk, who played a key role in these efforts, delivered $3,800 to Wellspring at a check presentation, which recognized the partners’ initiatives to support the local community.

During the month of November, Coastal Nissan pledged $100 for each catch and first down made by Kevin Faulk; he made 23 catches and 15 first downs last month, generating the dealership’s donation. "I'm really glad Coastal Nissan asked me to participate in this promotion. Wellspring is a great organization that helps out people in tough situations. It feels good to do my best and benefit others, too," said Mr. Faulk.
Coastal Nissan also created a food pantry and personal care collection, offering participating customers a discount on winterization services or a donation (on their behalf) to Wellspring. In addition, the dealership is assisting Wellspring with a purchase discount toward a fuel-efficient, seven-passenger, 2008 Nissan Quest mini-van this December, which will replace Wellspring’s high-mileage van.
"Over the past eight years, we've grown our business by being good community citizens and treating our customers well,” says Richard Walker, co-owner of Coastal Nissan. “We’re thrilled to give back to the community, and hope our efforts will help people during these challenging times."
Vinny Harte, executive director of Wellspring, says the partnership with Coastal Nissan has provided immediate relief for local families. “Wellspring cannot thank Coastal Nissan enough for their community spirit and desire to help those in need," says Mr. Harte. “Their generosity has enabled us to reach beyond emergency services and help people become more independent, productive members of the community.” He also noted that the partnership has served as a great opportunity to educate the public about Wellspring, and its year-round efforts to assist struggling families.
Tom Norton, also a Coastal Nissan co-owner, says the dealership is committed to serving the community beyond its core business. “We look forward to our ongoing partnership with Wellspring, and hope to continue finding new, creative ways to positively impact the South Shore,” says Mr. Norton.
In addition to its partnership with Wellspring, Coastal Nissan currently sponsors an “Athlete of the Month” program, which honors local high school athletes.
Coastal Nissan’s dealership is located at 109 Accord Park Drive, Norwell, MA.
