MIDDLESEX COUNTY, N.J. — A used car dealer and a Motor Vehicle Commission office employee pleaded guilty to charges associated with selling seven vehicles that were damaged by Superstorm Sandy. The dealer purchased cars at auction and listed them as “for parts only,” and acquired clean titles from the DMV employee, the Associated Press reports.
Jonathan Olin, who operated D&D Auto Sales, faces up to three years in prison and must reimburse the customers who bought the cars. Jessie Dinome will forfeit her job with the Motor Vehicle Commission office and could serve up to 364 days in jail.
