Online Auctions - Purchasing Inventory
Whether in the lane or online, Manheim – the Diamond Award winner in the online auction category – is the top choice for dealers. This is the company’s sixth Dealers’ Choice Award in the category in as many years, with Platinum Awards from ‘08 to ‘10 and Diamond in ‘06 and ‘07.
Ally’s SmartAuction (formerly GMAC SmartAuction) continued its run in the Dealers’ Choice Awards this year with the Platinum Award. It’s the only company that has won an award every year. It has three Diamond, three Platinum and one Gold. “On any given day, more than 9,000 dealers can login to review SmartAuction’s online vehicle inventory, which averages 13,000 vehicles representing over 40 different vehicle makes,” said Steve Kapusta, executive director of dealer sales. “That performance, combined with the energy of the dealers and leading consignors of rental, repossession and independent auctions has formed SmartAuction’s user community and fueled its momentum of success.”
AutoPayPlus says extra-long auto loans are trapping consumers and threatening the dealer trade-in cycle, and that the industry is leveraging the wrong tools to combat high MSRPs.
