ALBANY, N.Y. — The Times Union named Auto/Mate Dealership Systems a 2018 Top Workplaces in the midsize category. The technology company also took home a Special Award for Managers.

The honors mark the seventh consecutive year Auto/Mate has received a Top Workplaces honor, and the first time it has been recognized with the Special Award for Managers.

“The link between happy employees, happy customers, and healthy organizational growth is very strong, which is why our managers’ top priorities include creating a great place to work,” said Auto/Mate President and CEO Mike Esposito. “I would like to send out a huge Mahalo to each and every one of our employees.”

The Top Workplaces list is based solely on employee feedback gathered through a third-party survey administered by research partner Energage LLC (formerly WorkplaceDynamics). The anonymous employee survey measures several aspects of workplace culture, including alignment, execution, and connection.

“Top Workplaces is more than just recognition,” said Energage CEO Doug Claffey. “Our research shows organizations that earn the award attract better talent, experience lower turnover, and are better equipped to deliver bottom-line results. Their leaders prioritize and carefully craft a healthy workplace culture that supports employee engagement.”

The Special Award for Managers is presented to the company that received the highest scores from employee responses to specific, individual survey statements. Employees rated statements on a scale from “strongly agree” to “strongly disagree.” For the Manager’s award, the statements included: “My manager helps me learn and grow,” “My manager makes it easier to do my job well,” and “My manager cares about my concerns.”

Auto/Mate was the only company to receive the Special Award for Managers, ranking the highest among all 50 companies and organizations in three size categories that were honored with Top Workplaces awards.

Benefits Auto/Mate offers to its employees include company events and outings, involvement in and sponsorship of community events, employee gym, employee discounts, Food trucks and hosted breakfasts and lunches on special occasions, and more.

Auto/Mate has also named a “Best Places to Work” in New York’s Capital Region by the Albany Business Review journal for eight years running.
