Chevy GMC Store Changes Hands
A Missouri-based automotive group expanded its Kansas footprint with its third dealership acquisition in the state.

The dealership will be renamed Cable Dahmer Chevrolet GMC and remain at its current location.

Cable Dahmer Automotive Group acquired Dale Willey Chevrolet GMC in Lawrence, Kan., from Greg Maurer.
Dale Willey Automotive began in 1970 as a Pontiac Cadillac dealership and later expanded to include the Buick, GMC and Chevrolet brands and the moniker Dale Willey Automotive. Greg Maurer joined the group in 1998 and became sole owner in 2014.
Following the sale, he is entering retirement.
Performance Brokerage Services was the sell-side adviser, but it isn’t its first with Maurer. In 2024 it brokered the sale of Dale Willey Honda and Dale Willey Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram, which it had owned since 2019, to Bob Sight Auto Group.
“Dale Willey Chevrolet has a long history in the Lawrence community, and Carlos and the Cable Dahmer team recognized both the strength of the opportunity and the importance of continuing that legacy,” said Performance Brokerage Services adviser Jamie Farley.
Cable Dahmer Automotive Group started in 1957 with Cable Chevrolet in Kansas City, Mo. In 1988 it merged with Dahmer Chevrolet and has since expanded to 10 dealerships across Kansas and Missouri. The recent acquisition marks its third rooftop in Kansas.
“Every dealer who has built something for 50 years asks the same question when it’s time to step away: Who will take care of my people and my name?” said Cable Dahmer Automotive President Carlos Ledezma.
“Greg Maurer trusted Cable Dahmer with that answer. Dale Willey becomes our tenth store, and we’ll run it the way we’ve built our group since 2002, by keeping the team, investing in their growth, and honoring the standard that Greg set.”
The dealership will be renamed Cable Dahmer Chevrolet GMC and will remain at its current location.
