Washington, DC - XM, the nation's leading satellite radio service, and AutoTrader.com, the nation's leading online automotive classifieds marketplace, today announced an online marketing program targeting used car buyers.
AutoTrader.com will now prominently display an XM logo tile on the details page for every XM-equipped used vehicle from General Motors and American Honda Motor Co. to inform consumers that the vehicle is equipped with XM Radio functionality. In addition to the vehicle's details page, consumers will be able to download a printable AutoBiographyR brochure that will also include the XM tile.
All automotive classified and automotive search sites with car listings powered by AutoTrader.com will also prominently list the XM feature on XM-equipped GM, Honda and Acura vehicles.
All Certified and Non-Certified pre-owned GM, Acura and Honda vehicles equipped with factory-installed XM Satellite Radio are eligible for complimentary XM trial service and a waived activation fee. Once the consumer clicks on the XM tile or supporting text link, they will be taken to a page that describes this special XM Radio subscription offer.
"XM and AutoTrader.com are simplifying the car buying experience, making it easier for music and entertainment lovers to find just the right car for them," said Joe Verbrugge, senior vice president, automotive partnerships and international operations, XM. "When it comes to researching features, comparing models, getting price information and other shopping functions, the Internet is unquestionably one of the most important tools for used and new car shoppers," said AutoTrader.com President and CEO, Chip Perry. "AutoTrader.com lets consumers 'kick-the-tires' of cars online, allowing them to determine if their choice will come equipped with value-added features like XM Radio before making their choice."
Dealers with used GM, Acura and Honda inventory looking to leveraging the value-added built-in XM Radio feature can also activate a complementary XM dealer demo for use during customer test drives by calling their XM Dealer Hotline.
