CLIFTON PARK, N.Y. – Auto/Mate Dealership Systems (http://www.automate.com) announced today that it has successfully integrated its dealership management system, Automotive Management Productivity Suite (AMPS), with GM Service Workbench. The integration allows GM dealership service personnel to access customer and vehicle information, write repair orders (ROs), maintain schedules and more, all from within the DMS. Previously, service departments required several applications to accomplish what can now be done through a single, user-friendly interface.

“Consolidating multiple service department functions within a DMS is an important step to maximizing service profitability,” says Mike Esposito, President and CEO of Auto/Mate. “Once a service department moves away from paper and pencil operations and having to use multiple applications, it’s easy to eliminate redundancies, streamline processes and identify areas of weakness and profit potential.”

GM Service Workbench provides an interactive menu that service personnel can use to review the GM recommended maintenance schedule with customers, and to create custom packages that include GM recommended services, as well as the dealership’s recommended services. With just a few clicks, advisors or technicians can send accepted/declined items directly to the RO.

In addition, GM Service Workbench encourages the use of a multi-point vehicle inspection (MPVI) process, eliminating the cost of ordering paper forms and making it easy to print or e-mail recommendations. Service department managers can use the DMS to easily track and report results from the inspections, along with the ability to capture declined service by scheduling follow-up calls.

All customer and vehicle information is easily accessed through GM Service Workbench, and the system automatically populates all relevant information to the MPVI, RO and maintenance menus.

With the integration of GM Service Workbench to Auto/Mate’s AMPS, GM dealerships can expect an increase in customer retention and satisfaction, parts and service sales, and regularity of vehicle maintenance. GM dealers that are current customers of Auto/Mate will receive the integration interface at no additional cost.
