Carfax, Honda Extend Decade-Long Relationship
Carfax will continue to be a provider of vehicle history information for Honda's and Acura's certified pre-owned vehicle programs. For the past 10 years, Carfax Vehicle History Reports have been a key component in the certification process, officials said.
CENTREVILLE, Va. — American Honda Motor Co., Inc. has selected Carfax as a provider of vehicle history information for Honda's and Acura's certified pre-owned vehicle programs.
For the last 10 years, Carfax Vehicle History Reports have been a key component in the Honda and Acura certification process, officials said. Eligible vehicles also must meet Honda and Acura’s stringent program guidelines to be certified.
“We’ve continued to build two highly successful Certified Pre-Owned Vehicle programs over the last decade with the help of Carfax,” said Brian Butts, manager of Auto Remarketing at American Honda Motor Co. “Carfax Reports, along with Honda and Acura’s stringent certification procedures, help to ensure only the best Honda and Acura vehicles become certified.”
In 2013, Honda and Acura dealers sold over 246,000 and 41,000 Certified Pre-Owned Vehicles respectively. Wherever car buyers shop — including online at Carfax.com, Certified.Honda.com, Acura.com/CertifiedPreOwned.aspx and other popular shopping sites — they’ll still get free Carfax Reports from dealers who chose to run them for Certified Honda and Acura vehicles.
“What makes Certified Pre-Owned cars a great value are the program benefits,” said Steve Waersch, general manager at Pohanka Acura. “Our Certified Honda and Acura vehicles come with two things our customers want: a Carfax Report and a thorough inspection. In fact, we make sure our on-the-lot and online shoppers get a free Carfax Report for every single car in our inventory. It builds their confidence and makes them more likely to buy.”
