HOUSTON — On Thursday, Audi cut the ribbon on its largest store in the nation, Audi Central Houston. The new flagship store boasts a more than 142,000-square-foot facility, which houses a 10-car showroom.

“Houston, along with the entire state of Texas, remains a high priority region in the Audi U.S. growth strategy. The opening of Audi Central Houston indicates considerable progress toward our goal of becoming the country’s top luxury automaker,” said Mark Del Rosso, executive vice president and COO of Audi of America. “This new dealership exemplifies the growing investment of our dealer body and will lead by example by providing benchmark levels of customer and ownership experience.”

Located just off the Southwest Freeway, the new dealership cost approximately $25 million to build. It features ample space over seven floors and enough indoor parking to store more than 300 vehicles. The dealership also has 30 service bays, nine inspection bays, two alignment bays and an automated car wash.

Customers will also be able to relax in an upgraded Quattro Café that now includes pastries, fresh fruit and bagels every morning, as well as a gourmet line of coffee and espresso.

On staff will be 29 technicians, including one from the Audi Vets to Tech program. Ultimately, technicians will be able to exchange texts with a customer when their vehicle service is completed so their car is ready to go when they arrive at the dealership.

The newly opened dealership is operated by Sonic Automotive Inc. of Charlotte, N.C., one of the nation’s largest automotive retailers. The company operates in 15 states with 107 dealerships representing 29 different brands of automobiles.
