Harrisburg, NC – With over 100 well wishers looking on, the Carolinas Independent Automobile Dealers Association celebrated the completion of their brand-new 9098 sq.ft. headquarters building on Wednesday morning, 27 June 2007.  In addition to the many members present, notable guests included Thomas Hudson, Esq. the well-known auto industry attorney who is known widely for ‘Spot Delivery’, CarLaw and many other publications relating to the automotive arena.  NIADA Chair Randle Smith, Past-Chair Karen Barbee, along with numerous NIADA and CIADA Past Presidents were in attendance along with representatives from both the North and South Carolina DMV’s.

Furman Buchanan, Assistant Rector of St. Martin’s Episcopal Church in Columbia, SC and a former lobbyist for CIADA provided the invocation and the blessing of the new building.

Harrisburg Mayor Timothy Hagler greeted the throng of guests with thoughtful words about the Town of Harrisburg and the history and future of CIADA.

CIADA Chairman Marshall Perry was recognized for his pivotal role in the construction of the new headquarters by having the Association’s conference room named in his behalf.

Chief Staff Officer Jim Edwards recognized representatives from the Guardian Warranty Corporation for their generous contribution to the Association’s needs for the new facility.

CIADA President Chris Martin also welcomed the guests with a reminder of the 52-year history of the Association and the key role it plays in the day-to-day lives of nearly 3,000 member-dealers.

Chief Staff Officer Jim Edwards was quoted as saying “this project has been long in the making and even longer in seeing it coming to fruition.  This building belongs to our members and stands as a symbol and reminder of what those with vision can accomplish”.
