Hyundai, Acura Take Top Honors in KBB’s ‘5-Year Cost to Own’ Awards

IRVINE, Calif. — Five General Motors vehicles from the 2018 model year made Kelley Blue Book’s “2018 5-Year Cost to Own” list, while four Toyota and Lexus vehicle made the vehicle information site’s annual list.

The firm named Hyundai as the brand with the lowest cost to own and Acura as the lowest cost luxury brand. Top vehicles were selected in 22 categories.

The GM vehicles included four Chevrolet vehicles, including the Spark subcompact car, Impala full-size car, Camaro sports car, Tahoe full-size SUV, and Buick Encore luxury compact SUV.

Toyota winners included the Corolla iM compact car, Lexus GS luxury car, Prius C hybrid/alternative energy car, and Tacoma mid-size pickup.

Hyundai's Sonata topped the mid-size car category, while Acura's ILX was at the top of the entry-level luxury car list. Ford's F-150 was the top full-size pickup. The Honda Odyssey was the top minivan in the only van category.
