St. Petersburg, FL – Payless Car Sales, Inc. announced last August that they had signed a Master Franchise Area Development Agreement for Canada and their intent to begin selling franchises internationally.  Today, they announced the opening of a new website developed specifically for existing independent used car dealers and other entrepreneurs from around the globe who have an interest in becoming a part of their franchise system and Payless brand of quality pre-owned dealerships -  www.PaylessFranchise.com. “When we made the announcement in August about expanding into Canada, we never expected the level of interest that we have seen from the international marketplace”, said Mike Harley, President and COO. “We have spoken to a number of interested parties in Europe and the Middle East and will be attending the British & International Franchise Exhibition being held in London on March 23 – 24, 2007. We are very excited about what we see happening”, added Harley. 2006 was a good year for Payless, but 2007 could be a great one. Our biggest challenge for expanding internationally will be in establishing the kinds of “preferred partnership agreements” with key industry lenders and vendors like we have here in the US in other countries throughout the world. There will definitely be a learning curve, so we plan to move forward in a very slow and deliberate manner to avoid any costly mistakes. “As the Internet continues to grow and the number of online shoppers expands exponentially attracting their attention will become more competitive than ever” Harley said. “Our Payless brand resonates with consumers the world over. We know this”, Harley added, “because, several of our dealers are already receiving inquiries from, and selling and shipping cars to, customers from a number of overseas locations”. Payless Car Sales was initially formulated to provide a sales platform for disposing of rental vehicles for its sister company Payless Car Rental. It became a separate entity in July 2001 and has now grown to nearly 60 locations in 16 states and Puerto Rico. With that kind of growth and demonstrated success, inquiries from independents around the country and beyond have been steadily increasing. Payless Car Sales, Inc. is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Florida-based Avalon Global Group, Inc., a privately held company headquartered in St. Petersburg, Florida. The Payless group of companies upholds the highest business standards and continually strives for opportunities to diversify and improve the Payless brand.
