Prime Credit Finance - Non-Captive

BB&T made its first appearance at the awards this year, announcing it’s presence with authority by going straight for the top, grabbing the Diamond Award. The score of 137.4 was well above the group average of 110.4 and almost 20 points higher than the second-ranking company. “BB&T has always approached the sales finance business from a relationship standpoint, providing superior, value-added service to our dealers through consistent, reliable and common-sense lending,” said Pete Davenport, sales finance manager and executive vice president of BB&T. “It is very satisfying to see our team recognized by our dealer partners as the top performer in the very competitive prime lending space.”

While SunTrust is no stranger to the list, this is a first-time win for the company, who walked away with the Platinum Award. The now combined Wells Fargo/Wachovia rounded out the top three with the Gold Award.

Huntington Bank made a noteworthy first appearance at the DCAs, showing up in fourth place, closely followed by Fifth Third Bank. Many dealers seem to be having success using local credit unions, as evidenced by that segment’s sixth-place showing. Also ranking above average and only two-tenths of a point behind local credit unions was Credit Union Direct Lending (CUDL).
