Ford recalled about 5,000 Mustangs due to a suspension issue that could lead to loss of vehicle control.
The 2024 cars’ rear suspension may be built with a knuckle with a casting defect that can cause the knuckle to break, resulting in the loss or limitation of steering control, according to a notice on the National Highway Safety Administration website.
Ford dealers will examine the rear-suspension knuckles and replace any with serial numbers from a listing of suspect parts. The Detroit-area automaker is scheduled to mail recall notices to owners on Aug. 26.
