Recognition Program Showcases Commitment to Excellence

The Blue Seal of Excellence recognition program of the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence, or ASE, validates repair facilities that have developed a quality reputation with their customers and employ ASE-certified automotive service professionals.

“Repair facilities that recruit the best employees, support their training and ensure that their staff is ASE certified should be acknowledged for their commitment to excellence,” said ASE President and CEO Dave Johnson. “The ASE Blue Seal of Excellence program gives businesses the recognition they have earned. One of the many benefits of the elite Blue Seal program is the ASE online locator, making it easy for vehicle owners to find the best shops in their area.”

To qualify for the program, a business must meet specific criteria. For repair businesses, such as dealerships, independent repair shops, and fleet garages, at least 75% of technicians performing diagnosis and repairs must be ASE-certified, and each area of service offered in the shop must be covered by at least one ASE-certified technician.

Parts businesses, such as retailers, jobbers and warehouse distributors, and other support businesses, including research and engineering firms and diagnostic assistance services, may also achieve ASE Blue Seal status by having at least 75% of professionals with ASE certification, and each area of service or support offered covered by at least one ASE-certified professional.

“Meeting the high standards of the Blue Seal of Excellence Recognition Program puts businesses among an elite class that informed consumers look for when researching where to have their vehicles serviced,” Johnson said. “One of the best ways to find quality auto repair is to look for technicians and other service professionals who are ASE certified and display the ASE Blue Seal at their business.”
