The $400 million in claims paid, combined with the $3.1 billion paid by its sister-company EasyCare, brings the total amount paid by its parent company, APCO Holdings Inc., to more than $3.5 billion.
The F&I product provider has appointed Rob Mirra as national director of new business opportunities. In this role, he will be leading the building of new EasyCare relationships with dealerships across the nation, according to the company.
The acquisition brings together two firms that have been connected since 1992, with ADG serving as APCO’s largest independent agency for seven of those years, including the last two.
EasyCare is getting set to launch a new mobile app that will allow dealers to own the ODBII port in their customers’ vehicles. The connection will allow dealers to tailor service offers and alerts, as well as allow customers to perform a full health scan of their vehicle on their mobile device.
The transaction is expected to close this December. Officials said APCO’s management team will remain in place once it does.

EasyCare launched on Oct. 1 a full suite of F&I protections designed for the recreational vehicle market. Products include road hazard tire-and-wheel protection, GAP, limited warranty and vehicle service contracts.
EasyCare has partnered with Dave Anderson and his LearnToLead program to deliver training to the EasyCare dealer network.
The dealer group has added two more stores to the MOTOR TREND certified program. They’re located on Grove City, Pa.
