A Missouri dealership recently sold in a St. Louis-area changing of the guard.
Clement Auto Group, which owns a handful of dealerships in Missouri and Illinois across various brands, picked up Marty Cancila Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram in the St. Louis suburb of Florissant.
Penuel “Raj” Clement, Clement Auto owner and CEO, bought the store from founder Marty Cancila's son, Tony, and rebranded it under the Clement name. He kept on all of its existing employees, many of whom have worked there for more than 20 years. His group now has five new-vehicle dealerships.
The Florissant store, a local fixture since 1975, includes more than 50,000 square feet of space, 34 bays and a used-car lot, plus a nearby body shop. Its showroom is undergoing renovations, and the new owner plans to expand the service center for increased capacity at the dealership and at Clement Auto’s nearby used-vehicle store.
“Selling to a local dealer is a very delicate situation. Raj was sensitive to the Cancila family concerns as he moved through the purchasing process,” said Tim Wild, director of the Midwest and Plains Region for the Tim Lamb Group, which brokered the transaction.
